Vitaquest Names Luigi Cappello Commercial Officer, Continuing Leadership and Capacity Buildout

Vitaquest International, a West Caldwell, New Jersey-based contract manufacturer serving the dietary supplement and functional food industry, has named Luigi Cappello as its new chief commercial officer (CCO).¹ In the role, Cappello will lead the company's commercial organization, with responsibilities spanning growth strategy, customer engagement, innovation, and market expansion.

Cappello brings more than two decades of leadership experience across consumer health, healthcare, and branded businesses, including work in team building, growth strategy development, and customer relationship management. He most recently served as chief commercial officer at Helen of Troy and previously held senior leadership roles at Sanofi, Bayer Consumer Care, and Merck Consumer Care. His background includes brand strategy, innovation, portfolio management, omnichannel and e-commerce development, organizational transformation, and strategic investment.

What Are Other Leadership Transitions for Vitaquest?

Cappello's appointment follows Condron's own arrival as CEO earlier in 2026. Condron was named CEO effective April 1, 2026, in a transition the company said was intended to accelerate commercial and operational growth.² He most recently served as president and chief operating Officer at BestCo Inc., where he led a shift from confectionery manufacturing under food-grade standards to compliance with FDA drug and dietary supplement regulations.

Alan Yu, deputy chairman of CK Life Sciences, Vitaquest's parent organization, said Condron's combination of regulatory, operational, and commercial experience positioned him to build on the company's existing foundation.

Vitaquest has stated that its 2026 strategy centers on three priorities: customer-centricity, accelerated innovation, and strengthening its position as an employer of choice.

How Does This Fit Into Vitaquest's Broader Capacity Investments?

The leadership changes follow an earlier facility investment. In early 2026, Vitaquest opened a new Probiotics Manufacturing Suite in Parsippany, New Jersey, which the company said doubles its probiotics manufacturing capacity.³ The expansion is intended to support formulation with additional probiotic strains and new product concepts, along with exploration of personalized wellness applications. The suite includes two dedicated blending rooms and four encapsulation rooms.

Vitaquest said the new suite complements a granulation and drying facility the company acquired in 2023, which supports pre-treatment of raw materials — including moisture reduction and particle size standardization — ahead of probiotic incorporation. The company also noted that demand for probiotics has broadened beyond digestive health applications to include immune, cognitive, and general wellness positioning, citing third-party research indicating that roughly one-third of supplement users reported taking a probiotic in the past year.

Taken together, the CCO appointment, the CEO transition, and the probiotics facility expansion reflect a period of organizational and operational change at Vitaquest as the company positions itself within the contract manufacturing segment of the supplement industry.
