Beauty-from-Within Meets Gut Health
Live from SupplySide Global 2026, Klaus Neumann talks about Concordix's chewable supplement line spanning beauty and gut-immune health, including BeautyBioti, a Skin & Hair Vitality Complex, and FortiBiotic.
Live from SupplySide Global 2026, Nutritional Outlook’s Nicholas Jacobus speaks with Klaus Neumann, co-founder, Concordix, about a chewable supplement line spanning beauty and gut-immune health, including BeautyBiotic (pairing the postbiotic Plenibiotic with biotin), a Skin & Hair Vitality Complex (featuring Ceramosides and biotin), and FortiBiotic (combining a postbiotic with vitamin D3 in a vegan pectin matrix). In the conversation, Neumann discusses why the chewable format supports consumer compliance for beauty-from-within benefits, the mechanism linking gut-barrier integrity to immune support, and the growing clinical evidence behind postbiotics as a daily supplement ingredient.
Transcript:
Nicholas Jacobus: You’re showing BeautyBiotic, which pairs the postbiotic Plenibiotic with biotin, as well as a Skin & Hair Vitality Complex with Ceramosides and biotin. Why is beauty-from-within a good fit for this format, and what does the research behind these ingredients show?
Klaus Neumann: Thanks for the question. You know, I mean the format is really a good fit for that category because we see that one of our key USPs with the format is compliance. So, we know that the consumer enjoys the product, and that is driving the compliance. And of course, for a beauty application, you need to take the product every day. You need to show the compliance in order to see really the effect of the ingredient, when it comes to the ingredient, the ceramic side, of course, is a well-researched ingredient, really enhancing how the skin keeps the humidity in in the outer skin area. Hence, you know, improving the glow, hence improving the appearance of the skin. The same is valid for the planet biotics. It's shown in the research over the last couple of years that the gut skin axis is really improving the uptake of the ingredient and also giving better effects for the final result.
Jacobus: FortiBiotic combines a postbiotic with vitamin D3. Why connect gut-barrier integrity to immune support, and why a vegan pectin matrix with blister packs?
Neumann: Yes, very good question. Again, the photobiotic really has a lot of different applications, and one focus when it comes to gut health is really that in the gut most of the inflammation starts, and of course it's very important to have the proper gut health. What the postbiotic does, it does not populate your gut, but it reinforces how the gut walls are protected from leakage, and the gut wall leakage actually is causing the inflammation. Combining that with vitamin D, giving additional support in order to maintain the immunity. The pectin format is really driven by if we look at the consumer insights, we see a lot of consumers want a vegan alternative, and of course, the vegan alternative is optimal for all kind of customers. And in the blister package we can offer that in a very convenient format, so we can take it on the go, and it's ready for you whenever you need it to take.
Jacobus: Postbiotics are gaining traction in the industry. Can you tell us more about the potential benefits offered by postbiotics, and why are they a good fit for a daily chewable?
Neumann: Yeah, I mean the postbiotics is really an area which has increased in interest over the last five to 10 years, and it's shown very good clinical data. Actually, some of the data is better than with the probiotics. And really this is this is important to understand more and more how the nutrition, the uptake, is really driving the health and the well the wellness for the consumer. The format again is very consumer friendly, both in terms of the science and but also in terms of the compliance. So it's really enabling to give the value to the consumer and also, of course, the benefit to the company and the people working in the company.
