CoreFX Launches CreaSHLD-IN Shielded Creatine at SupplySide Global 2026
The company says the innovation, built on its CoreNhanced BioJourney platform, is designed for beverage and gummy formats.
CoreFX Ingredients LLC has announced the launch of CreaSHLD-IN, a shielded creatine innovation, at SupplySide Global 2026 at booth 1945.1 The company says the active, developed on its CoreNhanced BioJourney technology platform, is designed to address creatine degradation in water, particle settling, and other formulation limits.
What Problem Is CreaSHLD-IN Meant to Solve?
According to CoreFX, creatine is among the most studied molecules in sports nutrition, but putting it into ready-to-consume formats has proved difficult. The company says CreaSHLD-IN uses proprietary shielding to protect creatine during formulation and consumption, which it describes as a new option for manufacturers working on beverages, gummies, and on-the-go products.
Adam Garland, PhD, chief science officer at CoreFX, noted that creatine formulation depends on chemical stability and particle behavior, particularly in beverage and gummy systems. “CreaSHLD-IN uses proprietary shielding technology to limit creatine degradation and improve dispersion within formulations,” he explained. “Our evaluations measure creatine retention, monitor creatinine formation, and assess recovery in finished formulations to enable new innovation.”
What Data Does CoreFX Report?
CoreFX says it tested CreaSHLD-IN in three separate 24-hour runs, using room-temperature water, hot water, and a simulated gastric environment. According to the company, creatine levels held steady in all three, and no creatinine was detected under those test conditions.
In gummy tests, CoreFX says 99% of the creatine was recovered from a pectin-based formula aimed at a 23% creatine load, and all of it (100%) from a gelatin-based formula aimed at 21%. The company also compared water dispersion against conventional creatine monohydrate. After 15 minutes of identical mixing, it says CreaSHLD-IN appeared more uniform and had less visible settling. The release does not describe the test methods, sample sizes, or whether an outside laboratory ran the evaluations.
How Does It Fit the CoreNhanced Platform?
CoreFX CEO Denis Neville said in the Vitafoods announcement that product performance extends beyond the ingredients on a label, and that the platform links in-product function with in-body effect.
Where Is CoreFX Building Its European Research Base?
CoreFX announced a European headquarters in County Cork, Ireland, in September 2026.3
The operation starts with three scientists initially. Cara Maloney, PhD, will lead its scientific work, and Trevor Dunne will serve as managing director for Europe. Denis Neville, CoreFX’s founder and CEO, said Ireland has become one of the world’s leading centers for food science, biotechnology, and innovation. He said the partnership is meant to speed how nutritional technologies move from research to commercial use.
