Full-Spectrum Curcumin Extract from DolCas Enters Two New Formats at SupplySide Global 2026
DolCas Biotech is featuring the turmeric-derived ingredient Curcugen in Mānukora’s Mānuka honey and Numin’s cognitive-support drink.
DolCas Biotech is bringing Curcugen, its full-spectrum curcuminoid extract, into a Mānuka honey and a cognitive-support beverage through collaborations with Mānukora and Numin. The company will present both applications at SupplySide Global 2026, booth 6011.
What Is Curcugen, and How Is It Made?
According to DolCas, Curcugen is made from the whole turmeric rhizome through a proprietary process. The process retains the plant’s native essential oils and other constituents alongside curcumin, demethoxycurcumin (DMC), and bisdemethoxycurcumin (BDMC). The company says the ingredient requires no added bioenhancers.
DolCas states that human pharmacokinetic research shows total curcuminoid bioavailability more than 50 times greater than that of a standard curcuminoid extract, which it says supports low-dose formulation. The company also lists Self-Affirmed GRAS status for specified uses, a mild flavor, and water dispersibility as characteristics that extend the ingredient beyond capsules and tablets. The release says Curcugen has been studied in areas including exercise and recovery, gastrointestinal wellness, knee joint health, bioavailability, and safety.
What Are the Two New Applications?
Mānukora, a New Zealand-based Mānuka honey company, has added Curcugen to its Body Recovery & Gut formulation. The product combines raw MGO 850+ Mānuka honey with the turmeric extract, concentrated ginger, and Sicilian lemon oil. Benjamin Nahar, head of product development and herbal science at Mānukora, noted that Ayurveda describes honey as a yogavahi, a medium that enhances the herbs it carries. He said Curcugen’s full-spectrum profile let the company deliver potency without relying on isolated curcuminoids.
Numin, a functional beverage from SLS Performance Pte., Ltd., is formulated for what the company calls decision fatigue. The current version of the drink combines Curcugen with other ingredients and is available as orange-flavored powder sachets, one serving each, that mix into liquids. The release says Numin’s own evaluations found better mental clarity and steadier decision-making, with effects beginning around the 60-minute mark and holding for as long as six hours. The release does not describe how those evaluations were designed. Numin CEO Arun Hozack said the team built the product around a mechanism and tested the finished formula instead of its individual components. The beverage targets professionals such as executives, traders, consultants, and managers.
How Does This Fit With DolCas’s Other Format Work?
The Curcugen announcement follows another format launch from DolCas.
What Does the Company Say Comes Next?
Rao said the conversation for product developers is shifting from how much curcumin can be absorbed to what can be created with it. He suggested Curcugen could be used in honey, morning beverages, ready-to-drink wellness shots, gummies, chocolate, or new functional foods. He added that several research programs are underway that could take the ingredient into categories not traditionally associated with curcumin. DolCas invites visitors to booth 6011 to sample Curcugen applications and discuss the clinical science.
