The palm phytonutrient supplier will show STGaia, TocoGaia, and PetGaia at the event and preview a planned research grant program.

PhytoGaia, a Malaysia-based supplier of branded palm phytonutrients, announced on October 7, 2026, that it will exhibit new product opportunities at SupplySide Global at booth 6177, presenting new research on its TocoGaia tocotrienol complex, its first SupplySide showcase of pet wellness products built around PetGaia, and new product concepts for its STGaia ingredient.1

What Ingredients and Research Will PhytoGaia Show?

According to the company:

  • STGaia is a plant squalene and tocotrienol/tocopherol complex positioned for healthy aging and beauty-from-within. PhytoGaia says it was named Ingredient of the Year: Healthy Ageing at the 2025 NutraIngredients-Asia Awards.
  • TocoGaia is a full-spectrum tocotrienol/tocopherol complex. PhytoGaia will share clinical research on its potential role in liver health, including studies related to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and alcohol-associated fatty liver disease.
  • PetGaia is a palm fruit extract. The company will present an 8-week randomized, placebo-controlled canine study of skin and coat measures, including skin hydration, itching, redness, lesions, and shedding. PhytoGaia says PetGaia was named Pet Ingredient Innovation of the Year 2026.

Bryan See, vice president of PhytoGaia, highlighted collaboration opportunities with brand owners. “At Supplyside Global 2026, we want to go beyond showcasing our ingredients and demonstrate the possibilities they can offer to the market,” he explained. “We look forward to engaging with brand owners, formulators and industry leaders to explore new product development opportunities, research collaborations and health and wellness concepts across healthy ageing, beauty, nutrition, and pet wellness.”

What Product Concepts and Pet Activities Are Planned?

PhytoGaia will show concepts meant to illustrate how its ingredients can reach market. For STGaia, these include vegetarian softgels, liquid capsules, functional jellies, and a sports bar, along with beauty concepts the company calls an “Outside-In and Inside-Out” approach. For PetGaia, they include chewable tablets, softgels, and dropper formats, among them a dropper called PawGaia.

At the booth, the company will invite pet wellness professionals, partners, and pet owners to join an 8-week PawGaia Challenge and receive a dropper sample.

What Is the Research Grant Program?

PhytoGaia says it is preparing to launch an inaugural Annual Research Grant Programme to support collaborative studies of its branded ingredients with universities and research institutions. “The future of health and wellness lies in bringing together strong science, innovative ingredients and the right industry partnerships,” explained See.

What Else Has PhytoGaia Been Highlighting?

On September 24, the company publicized a mouse study from Universiti Teknologi MARA in Malaysia, published online in March in Tissue and Cell.2 Researchers induced allergic asthma in female mice, gave some of them a palm tocotrienol-rich fraction (TRF), and examined their 2-cell embryos.3 Embryos from the asthma-only mice showed reduced mitochondrial fusion and other changes in mitochondrial structure. Embryos from the TRF-supplemented mice improved on several measures, including mitochondrial fusion and development rates. “Tocotrienol-rich fraction supplementation mitigates these impairments by restoring mitochondrial fusion, enhancing mitochondria–lipid droplet interactions and preserving ATP synthesis which lead to improve developmental potential,” the authors concluded.

The authors call the findings preliminary, advised caution when them to human pregnancy, and say dosing and safety work is needed before any clinical use.

“This research adds to the growing evidence highlighting the potential of palm tocotrienols in supporting mitochondrial health,” explained Ariati Aris, PhD, scientific affairs specialist at PhytoGaia. “This study provides valuable mechanistic insight into how maternal inflammatory stress may influence mitochondrial function during early embryonic development and highlights the potential beneficial role of palm tocotrienols in maternal nutrition, mitochondrial health, and reproductive biology.”

See also commented on the unique angle of the research. “What is particularly interesting is that the study goes beyond the conventional antioxidant narrative and provides mechanistic insights involving mitochondrial fusion, mitochondria–lipid droplet interactions and energy-related pathways,” he stated. “It adds an interesting dimension to the growing scientific understanding of tocotrienols.”
