At SupplySide Global 2026, Jordi Riera of Kaneka Probiotics describes the company’s focus on research and probiotics for women’s health.

Live from SupplySide Global 2026, Associate Editor Erin McEvoy interviews Jordi Riera, Head of Probiotics Division of Kaneka Probiotics, on its women’s health focus. Riera explains that Kaneka has devoted substantial research and development effort to this area in recent years, and its product line includes an estrobolome-modulating probiotic intended to help perimenopausal women reabsorb estrogen, potentially supporting relief from menopause symptoms. Riera also discussed Gyntima Balance, an oral product designed to support vaginal health by colonizing the vagina after consumption. Erin McEvoy: Hello, everyone. I'm here at Kaneka Probiotics with Jordi Riera here to discuss what they're showcasing at SupplySide Global 2026. It's nice to meet you. Thank you for joining us.

Jordi Riera: Hi, hello. Nice to meet you.

McEvoy: So, right off the bat, what is your company showcasing this year, and what's new?

Riera: This year we're showcasing a women's health campaign. As you see, the whole booth is around women's health, and that's where we have dedicated the most efforts in our research and development activities in the last few years.

McEvoy: Perfect. And what does the research behind this ingredient or technology show? And what is still being studied? What's still coming?

Riera: Okay. So in women's health, we have a line of products. We started with the first and only estrabolome modulating product, which is essentially a probiotic that allows or helps the body of a perimenopausal woman to reabsorb estrogens and recover them back into the body, helping with the symptoms of menopause. And then we do also a product, we launched product, Gyntima Balance, that is a product for women's health, for vaginal health, where we take it oral and then colonizes the vagina. And from there, we're expanding to other areas like iron absorption or anything that can relate and help work myself in general.

McEvoy: All right, perfect. Sounds excellent. Thank you so much.

Riera: You're welcome.
