Lemme's New "GLP-1 Production Support" Capsule Puts a Familiar Formulation Question to the Test

A new Walmart-exclusive supplement from Lemme joins a fast-growing, category of products marketed around the body's natural GLP-1 production.

Lemme, who previously introduced Lemme NAD+, has launched a capsule formulated around supporting the body's own production of glucagon-like peptide-1, or GLP-1, sold exclusively through Walmart.¹

The move places the brand inside one of the nutraceutical industry's fastest-growing categories: supplements positioned, directly or indirectly, around the same hormone targeted by prescription GLP-1 drugs.

"GLP-1 is an important area of metabolic health research and something my patients are increasingly asking about," said Dr. Kathleen Valenton, a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist and chief medical officer at Lemme. "We selected ingredients with strong clinical research behind them, including Eriomin, a patented lemon complex backed by years of research and validated in published human clinical trials to support natural GLP-1 production."¹

What Ingredients Make Up Lemme's New GLP-1 Support Formula?

The capsule combines Eriomin, a patented citrus flavonoid complex; Chromax, a branded form of chromium picolinate; berberine; myo-inositol; bitter melon; and vitamin B12. The company describes Eriomin as the formula's central ingredient for GLP-1 support, with Chromax included for body composition and lean muscle mass and the remaining ingredients positioned around energy metabolism.

The release did not specify individual ingredient doses, and no clinical research on the complete 6-ingredient formula was cited.

What Does the Clinical Evidence Behind Eriomin Actually Show?

The human research behind Eriomin comes from a crossover, randomized trial in 30 adults with prediabetes or diabetes and elevated fasting glucose.² Over 12 weeks, 200 mg of Eriomin daily was associated with a 5% reduction in fasting glucose, an 11% improvement in insulin resistance, a 17% increase in GLP-1, and reductions in 2 inflammatory markers relative to placebo.²

Is There Independent Evidence Behind the Formula's Other Key Ingredient?

Chromium picolinate, marketed here under the Chromax brand, has a longer and more mixed research record than Eriomin. A 2018 review in Nutrients surveying supplementation strategies for preserving lean body mass during weight loss cites chromium picolinate studies with varying outcomes depending on the population studied, from competitive athletes to general dieters.³

The review's authors describe chromium picolinate's effects on body composition as inconsistent across that literature rather than settled, underscoring that, as with Eriomin, the available evidence sits at the level of an individual ingredient rather than the finished, multi-ingredient formula Lemme is now selling at retail.

How Are Regulators Treating "GLP-1 Support" Supplement Claims?

The regulatory backdrop matters for how manufacturers in this category position new products. Despite the rapid expansion of supplements referencing GLP-1, the FDA had issued only 1 supplement-specific warning letter on the subject as of late 2025, directed at a company whose products claimed unapproved disease benefits and falsely implied the agency had approved them.⁴

Products framed around supporting a normal body process, rather than treating or mimicking a drug's effect, have generally drawn less scrutiny to date. That distinction appears to matter for how Lemme has worded its own claims, which are framed around supporting natural production rather than replicating a drug's action.
