Sabinsa Corp. (East Windsor, NJ) will launch a new USP-grade ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) ingredient at SupplySide West called Shagandha. According to the company, Shagandha ashwagandha will “change the way people look at this popular adaptogen.”
In addition to introducing Shagandha, Sabinsa will showcase its recently launched black cumin seed extract (Nigella sativa), called Nigellin. The ingredient is standardized to contain thymoquinone, thymohydroquinone, hederagenin, and rosmarinic acid. The Nigellin ingredient is rich in essential fatty acids as well, including omega-6 (66%) and omega-9 (20%). Sabinsa recently launched three versions of Nigellin: Amber, Onyx, and Pearl.
