Concordix Brings Chewable Emulsion Delivery Platform to Vitafoods Asia

At Vitafoods Asia, the Vitux-developed technology aims to give formulators an alternative to conventional tablets and capsules across multiple categories.

Concordix, a chewable emulsion delivery technology developed by Norway-based contract development and manufacturing organization Vitux AS, will exhibit at Vitafoods Asia (Booth H1-D07) with a portfolio of supplement concepts covering multiple health categories.1 The company describes Concordix as the first and only chewable emulsion delivery platform of its kind, backed by a global patent portfolio.

Catherine Nardone, vice president of marketing at Concordix, said the Asian market is receptive to new formats and science-backed innovation, calling Vitafoods Asia an opportunity to demonstrate that delivery format can be as important to supplement innovation as ingredient selection.

“Our goal is to help customers move beyond simply choosing ingredients and think about the complete delivery experience,” Nardone also explained. “Concordix gives brands a platform for bringing together science, formulation and consumer experience in one product. For the Asian market in particular, we see tremendous potential to create supplement concepts that are both highly functional and genuinely enjoyable to take.”

How Does the Emulsion Platform Work?

According to the press release, the technology converts nutritional ingredients into a chewable gelled emulsion containing submicron droplets, a format intended to work alongside the body's digestive process while giving formulators an alternative to conventional tablets and capsules. The platform is positioned to accommodate a wide range of ingredients and is manufactured at Vitux facilities in Andenes, Norway, and Windsor, Canada.

In an interview with Nutritional Outlook earlier this year at Natural Products Expo West, Vitux Group CEO Klaus Neumann described the emulsion system as the basis for how the chewable format is intended to differ from other delivery vehicles.2 He positioned chewables as distinct from pills, softgels and gummies, which he characterized as pharmaceutical or candy delivery formats rather than formats built around nutrient absorption, saying Concordix instead mimics how fat-soluble and water-soluble nutrients occur together in food.

Concordix has recently introduced more than 60 launch-ready product concepts, and Neumann highlighted that 2026 development priorities included a vegan multivitamin format as well as new concepts in the energy, longevity and gut health categories. Earlier formulation work includes a saffron and omega-3 concept called ZenVision, serving as an example of the platform's ability to handle ingredient combinations that can be difficult to stabilize.

What Formulation Challenges Is Concordix Designed to Address?

The Vitafoods Asia press release positions Concordix as a platform designed to help brands address common supplement development obstacles, rather than functioning solely as a carrier for nutritional ingredients. The company states the chewable emulsion format can support meaningful ingredient payloads while maintaining stability and offering a format intended to be convenient and enjoyable for consumers. Concordix also describes the platform as versatile enough to combine multiple nutritional ingredients within differentiated product concepts. This flexibility, the company says, opens formulation opportunities across categories such as eye health, cognitive health, healthy aging, prenatal and early-life nutrition, beauty-from-within, children's nutrition and general wellness. For brands in Asian markets specifically, the release notes the platform can be adapted to regional consumer preferences, ingredient strategies and regulatory requirements.

Concordix says it works with customers from initial formulation through commercialization, with a focus on ingredient compatibility, payload, stability and sensory characteristics as products are developed for target markets. At the show, the company plans to let attendees experience the format directly and discuss options for developing customized products for both Asian and global markets.
