The Chinese firm CoCrystal Pharmatech, expert in co-crystallization technology, has launched Crystal E, a highly concentrated vitamin E powder in its bioactive form, tocopherol. The ingredient is formally launching at SupplySide West 2019 in Las Vegas, NV at the Charles Bowman and Company (Holland, MI) booth #4949, the ingredient’s North American distributor. CoCrystal’s innovative technology uses an amino acid to aid in the crystallization of vitamin E oil into a powder that results in material that has not been chemically modified, and with fewer processing aids.
“Crystal E has no chemical modifications which allows for a cleaner product and the use of the technology allows for greater stability and bioavailability of Vitamin E,” said Professor Xuefeng Mei, inventor of Crystal E, in a press release. “Additionally, consumers want products with clean labels and Crystal E can support that requirement.”
“Crystal E is a revolutionary product form which uses a technology that changes the way active compounds are made into powders,” added Anthony Palmieri, senior director, global business development at Charles Bowman and Company, in a press release. “Product development will appreciate the ease of use and high potency which can allow for greater flexibility in product formulations.”
Other benefits of using Crystal E include reduced tablet size, flowability and compressibility, and compliance with new FDA label regulations.
