Extracts on Display at SupplySide Global 2025

Taking place at SupplySide Global in Las Vegas, Nevada, between October 29, 2025, to October 30, 2025, BGG, a natural ingredient supplier, announced that they will be showcasing their ApplePhenon apple extract and AstaZine astaxanthin that are used in drinking yogurt, as well as coffee concepts.

ApplePhenon may have the potential to help with skin health and weight management support. In the press release, BGG mentioned that the supplement ingredient is “…well suited to the growing women’s health market and GLP-1 trend, and can be used across applications including supplements, beverages, chewing gum, and cosmetics.”¹ Attendess at SupplySide Global will have the opportunity to sample the ApplePhenon green apple extract with drinking yogurt.

AstaZine comes from Haematococcus pluvialis microalgae and is a natural antioxidant. The supplement ingredient is able to be included in a coffee concept but also can be utilized in gummies, capsules, sachets, tablets, cosmetics, and soft gels. According to the press release, BGG is one of the largest astaxanthin producers in the world.¹ The company has also created a technological platform that allows for the ingredient to be incorporated into a variety of beverage formulations.

New Investment for Astaxanthin Manufacturing Facilities

In a May 16, 2025, press release, BGG announced the expansion of its astaxanthin manufacturing facilities in the Yunnan Province in China in addition to establishing a new research laboratory.² BGG’s 100% glass-tube photobioreactor microalgae platform, reportedly the largest globally, will now incorporate farming, extraction, drying and packaging within an approximately 12-mile area. The on-site research and development team will also more than double and will focus on advancements in quality and innovation in microalgae ingredients, as well as work with various institutes for research on local tropical plants and fungi.

An inauguration day for the investment in the facility was planned and took place on June 20, 2025.

BGG has held prior expansions in 2023 and 2024 which have doubled the company’s capacity in production.
