The new Sami Nutraceuticals facility increases Sami-Sabinsa Group’s annual throughput to over 2000 tons.
Sabinsa Corp. (East Windsor, NJ) is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year as an ingredients supplier to the nutraceutical and cosmeceutical industries, with ingredients such as herbal extracts, probiotics, and enzymes. Parent company Sami-Sabinsa is also celebrating its latest milestone, which is the opening of the new Sami Nutraceuticals manufacturing facility at its manufacturing site in Hassan, India, which will serve both the nutraceutical and pharmaceutical markets.
According to the company’s press release, the new Sami Nutraceuticals facility will increase Sami-Sabinsa’s annual throughput to over 2000 tons. In addition, the company is in the final stages of completing another new manufacturing facility at the Hassan site, which should be finished by December 2023.
For its anniversary, the company, which was founded in the U.S. in 1988, is celebrating all of its achievements, including its current portfolio of over 440 ingredient patents in the U.S. and other countries, and the continuation of its global expansion, adding offices in the UK, France, Hungary, and Spain.
Sabinsa’s press release notes, “The company was the first to commit to research and publish studies in support of product safety and efficacy, long before this was considered an essential part of developing a branded ingredient. And the company has worked hard to set the standard for best practices throughout the global industry.”
