Rousselot (Irving, TX) has announced that it will be showcasing its portfolio of science-backed collagen solutions at this year’s Vitafoods Europe in Geneva, Switzerland, taking place on May 14-16, 2024. More specifically, the company will be highlighting new research that demonstrates the ability of its Peptan collagen peptide brand to support sleep quality1, reduce gastrointestinal discomfort2, and enhance skin health, including density, hydration, and elasticity. To learn more about Rousselot’s collage peptide solutions, visitors can attend a presentation by Florencia Moreno Torres, Rousselot’s Global Business Development manager for health and nutrition, titled “Collagen peptides: The ultimate beauty from within ingredient plus a holistic well-being twist” at 2:30 PM CET on May 15 at the New Ingredient Theater.

Additionally, the company will highlight a new discovery in active collagen peptides that it believes may provide targeted health benefits. According to a press release from Rousselot’s parent company, Darling Ingredients, the company used a propriety process to identify specific collagen peptide profiles that may provide targeted support, with clinical trials demonstrating benefits such as reductions in post-meal blood sugar spikes.

“Darling Ingredients has unlocked the next wave of collagen-based solutions that are truly revolutionary. Produced through our proprietary process, we have discovered a way to use natural collagen for targeted health benefits,” said Randall C. Stuewe, chairman and CEO, in a press release. “We are extremely encouraged by our discovery and are working with a variety of consumer products companies to bring these products to market.”

“This is a game-changing discovery that opens many new product launches,” Stuewe added. “Built on science with patents pending, we will continue to leverage the power of native collagen to develop a number of solutions, each with targeted health benefits.”

The company also has an extensive gelatin portfolio, particularly since the acquisition of Gelnex in April of 2023. With that acquisition, Darling Ingredients acquired five facilities in South America and one in the United States that. This amount to a production capacity of 46,000 metric tons of gelatin and collagen products annually on top of its existing facilities. Representatives from Rousselot and Gelnex will both be available at booth E106.
