Mushroom extracts supplier Nammex (Gibsons, BC, Canada) has welcomed Bill Chioffi to its management team. Chioffi will serve as the company’s chief strategy and innovation officer.

Chioffi’s background includes a 21-year tenure with Gaia Herbs, including as vice president of global sourcing and sustainability. He also served as vice president of strategic partnerships and business development for the Ric Scalzo Institute for Botanical Research at Sonoran University of Health Sciences (formerly SCNM). He is also a member of nonprofit boards United Plant Savers, The Sustainable Herbs Program, and Appalachian Forest Farmers.

“Nammex has long advocated for best practices in the mushroom category, and the company’s products are second to none,” said Chioffi in a press release. “I’m delighted to be part of such a stellar company as the mushroom category undergoes such rapid growth in consumer demand.”

“Bill’s longstanding relationships in the natural products sector coupled with his intimate hands-on knowledge of the responsible production, use, and research of traditional medicines are important attributes that Bill brings to his new role at Nammex,” said Jeff Chilton, Nammex's founder and president.
