Lycored (Branchburg, NJ) expanded its line of astaxanthin products with an oleoresin created from Haematococcus pluvialis algae designed for soft gels and a microencapsulated starch beadlet, a cold water dispersible microencapsulated solution for beverages and dry mixes.
“Our natural, algae-derived astaxanthin formulations have been developed with quality top of mind,” said Karin Hermoni, head of product and science at Lycored, in a press release. “Between the classic soft gel and the richness of possibilities that our unique microencapsulation technologies allow, we can now offer manufacturers a hub for a wide range of finished applications with astaxanthin.”
Its beadlet microencapsulation techniques enhance the stability of ingredients while minimizing cross-interaction and protecting against oxidation. Lycored’s microencapsulation technology also provides options for tablets, hard-shell capsules, chewable tablets, gummies, and nutritional bars, expanding the possibilities of astaxanthin applications.
