Bioriginal Food & Science Corp. (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada) is targeting marketers courting customers pursuing a Ketogenic Diet. At the SupplySide West trade show, the company will launch coconut medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) powders that it claims are “the only Keto-certified MCT powders on the market.”
The powders combine the energy-boosting benefits of MCTs and a source of protein from collagen (hydrolyzed type 1 and 3 collagen) and organic whey. The company offers two versions: 1) InstaMCT Pro, which provides 7 g MCTs and 2.4 g protein in each 10-g serving, and has a 70% MCT oil load, and 2) InstaMCT Pro + Ghee, which combines MCTs, ghee, collagen, and whey protein all in one product. The powders are soluble in hot liquids and have a creamy taste and mouthfeel.
The company says interest in MCTs is high. “MCT (medium-chain triglyceride) sales are exploding,” says Joe Vidal, Bioriginal’s president, in a press release. “Consumers want portion packages and on-the-go solutions for this product that is becoming part of everyday lifestyles.”
