Bühler AG is launching a brand-new company division focusing on the consumer food market. This new division will incorporate the company’s chocolate, nuts, bakery, and coffee businesses along with the business Bühler gained when it acquired The Haas Group in January 2018. The Austrian-based Haas Group is a leader in wafers, biscuits, and confectionery production systems.
This new consumer foods division is significant for the Bühler, which has operated only two business units in its 150-year history: 1) advanced materials and 2) grains & food. Bühler says the new consumer foods unit is “truly focused on consumer foods and confectionery, with integrated solutions to produce wafers, biscuits, baked goods, chocolate, pralines, filled products, nuts, coffee, and more.” The consumer foods unit will be effective on January 1, 2019.
The company says that the consumer foods group “will be able to support customers even better in these global markets through simplified interfaces, integrated solutions, innovation, and services.”
