In keeping with its campaign to offer grape juice ingredients for a variety of product types, Welch’s Global Ingredients Group recently announced the launch of its new FruitWorx Concord grape juice powder.

A free-flowing, soluble, and low water-activity power made from dehydrated fruit juice, FruitWorx powder is appropriate for applications including dietary supplements, pharmaceuticals, confectionery, baked goods, snacks, dairy products, dry beverages, and seasoning blends. Welch’s says the powder offers the same type of polyphenols found in its Welch’s 100% Grape Juice.

Although many of these applications are new for Welch’s, this isn’t the grape juice giant’s first foray into non-juice applications. The FruitWorx brand already includes a range of Concord and Niagara grape–based fruit pieces, flakes, and pastes developed by Taura Natural Ingredients (Winchester, VA).

“Nearly two years ago, Welch’s Foods Inc. established the Welch’s Global Ingredients Group to deliver the many benefits of the concord grape to more people and places in a range of new product formats,” said Wayne Lutomski, vice president of international and global ingredients for Welch’s. “FruitWorx Concord grape juice powder enables us to continue this mission offering our customers a convenient way to bring the goodness of the Concord grape to a very wide range of applications, many of which are completely new categories for Welch’s Global Ingredients Group.”
