TSI Group Expands Precision Nutrition Platform Into U.S. and Australian Markets
Key Takeaways
- Expansion into the U.S. and Australia operationalizes individualized supplement manufacturing, positioning personalization as formula production rather than product matching.
- Proprietary AI translates questionnaire/biomarker inputs into nutritional profiles, enabling N-of-1 compounding or standardized segment-based formulations.
The precision-granule platform Tailored Script enters the U.S. and Australian markets, giving brands and practitioners a way to manufacture individualized formulations at scale.
TSI Group has announced that Tailored Script, its individualized supplement manufacturing platform, is expanding beyond China into the United States and Australia, marking a shift for the personalized nutrition category from concept to commercial execution.1
How Does Tailored Script Differ From Existing Personalization Models?
According to the company, most personalized nutrition offerings to date are limited to matching consumers with existing, pre-formulated products rather than manufacturing a formula built around an individual's data. TSI Group describes Tailored Script as different in that it links health-data collection and AI-assisted analysis to an end-to-end manufacturing process, producing individualized formulations rather than recommendations. The platform has been in development and real-world use in China for close to ten years, and the company is now bringing it to new geographies through a small set of launch partners: Biohax, a direct-to-consumer platform in the U.S., and N of 1 and TMRW in Australia, which the company positions as representing both practitioner-guided and consumer-facing models of personalization.
Joe Zhou, co-founder of TSI Group, highlighted the opportunities the platform offered. “The industry has talked about personalized nutrition for years, but personalization is only meaningful if you can actually manufacture the formula for the individual,” stated Zhou. “Tailored Script was built to make the entire process possible. It gives brands and practitioners the ability to create truly individualized supplement formulas, not just individualized recommendations.”
What Is the Underlying Technology and Formulation Process?
The company's own materials describe the personalization process as running through several stages: health data is gathered via questionnaires or biomarker testing, then processed by a proprietary AI system the company describes as the first of its kind, which the company says translates that data into individual nutritional profiles.2 From there, formulations are built around what the company calls a "root cause" approach intended to target the areas where an individual is most likely to benefit, with the ability to scale down to single-person (N of 1) formulations or to address defined population segments. TSI Group also markets a dynamic tracking component, under which consumer data collected over time is used to adjust a person's formulation on an ongoing basis.
The ingredient base supporting these formulations is described as a catalog of more than 150 vitamins, minerals, and botanicals, each produced as an individual granule that can be combined in varying combinations depending on the formulation generated for a given user.
TSI Group also states that its Tailored Script manufacturing and testing sites are registered with regulatory bodies including the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and Australia's Therapeutic Goods Administration, and that production is carried out under current Good Manufacturing Practice compliance.
What Manufacturing Technology Supports the Platform?
On the manufacturing side, TSI Group says the system relies on roughly 3-millimeter precision granules packaged into pods, with each granule carrying a set dose of a single ingredient so that multiple actives can be kept separate until they are combined into a person's daily formulation. The company frames this granule-based approach as a response to recurring manufacturing obstacles in personalized supplementation, including ingredient compatibility, stability, dosing accuracy, and the general complexity of producing many distinct formulas at scale. “Powder-based systems can be difficult to manage when every formula is different,” Zhou explained. “Our precision-granule system makes it possible to combine vitamins, minerals, botanicals and other bioactives into a pod designed around an individual’s specific needs.”
TSI Group indicates it plans to expand selectively, screening new manufacturing and brand partners in North America and Asia-Pacific based on strategic fit and data capabilities.
