TruShield Launches Certification App, Certifies CleanForm Nutrition's goBHB Energy Shots

TruShield, the banned substance certification program operated by Eagle Diagnostics, has introduced a new mobile app intended to help users confirm whether a product or ingredient carries valid TruShield Certification.¹ According to the July 16, 2026, announcement, the app is aimed at consumers, athletes, health care professionals, professional sports teams, trainers, and retailers who want a fast way to check certification status, and it is now available on the Apple App Store and Google Play.

The launch comes alongside a broader effort by TruShield to clarify the scope of its certification process. The company states that TruShield Certification includes three components: screening for more than 480 prohibited compounds (including anabolic agents, stimulants, SARMs, and diuretics), a review of label claims against each product's Certificate of Analysis, and validation of GMP certification. TruShield describes this combination as intended to reduce the risk of inadvertent banned substance exposure while supporting athlete eligibility and brand reputation.

Lori Bestervelt, PhD, Senior Vice President of Certification Services, said the app enables easier to confirm product certification. “Transparency has always been central to the TruShield Certification process,” said Bestervelt. “The new TruShield Certification App makes it easier for consumers, athletes, practitioners, teams and professional users to confirm whether a product is certified. It also helps make it more visible that TruShield Certification includes not only banned substance testing, but also label claim review against the CoA and validation of GMP certification for certified lots.”

Which New Product Just Earned TruShield Certification?

In a separate announcement issued the same day, TruShield confirmed that CleanForm Nutrition's goBHB Energy Shots have earned TruShield Certification.² The shots use L-goBHB exogenous ketone technology and are marketed as a caffeine-free, sugar-free alternative to conventional stimulant-based energy products, available in Apple, Blue Raspberry, and Wild Berry flavors.

As with other certified products, the goBHB Energy Shots underwent testing for more than 480 banned substances, verification of GMP-certified manufacturing, and confirmation that label claims match the product's actual composition.

Bestervelt said the certification reflects the level of independent verification TruShield expects brands serving athletes and performance-focused consumers to meet. "As sports nutrition and functional products continue to evolve, athletes and active consumers need confidence that the products they use have been independently verified," she explained. "TruShield Certification represents one of the highest standards of product integrity and gives brands the opportunity to demonstrate their commitment helping protect athletes, consumers and brand reputation through comprehensive banned substance testing, GMP verification and label claim confirmation."

Mike Cernovich, founder of CleanForm Nutrition, said the certification supports the company's positioning of the product. What is the Background on TruShield Certification?

TruShield Certified was launched by Eagle Diagnostics in April 2025 as a certification program for dietary supplements and functional foods and beverages, screening products against a current list of banned substances.³ The program was built on Eagle Diagnostics' more than 20 years of banned substance testing experience and was designed to complement, rather than duplicate, existing GMP and label-claim checks. The company's Utah lab holds ISO 17025 accreditation.
