In an April 29, 2025, press release, Eagle Diagnostics announced it had launched a new certification program, TruShield™ Certified. The program tests dietary supplements and functional food and beverages for the most current list of banned substances, including more than 400 substances, that athletes are most at risk for.

“With over 20 years of banned substance testing and program development, I built TruShield Certified to meet the real-world needs of sports organizations and supplements brands who can’t afford to take chances,” stated Lori Bestervelt, senior vice president of Certification Services, in the press release. “Our proven track record in anti-doping and banned substance detection has fueled our expansion into finished product testing. It’s not just about testing—it’s about trust. Delivered by scientists with deep anti-doping expertise and the most current and relevant list of banned substances.”

The certification is intended to be used in conjunction with GMP testing, label claim and testing for contaminants, as opposed to a replication. Rather than completing broad testing, TruShield focuses on the current list of banned substances and components, including ones found on the Amazon adulterated list. Testing using constantly updated protocols and substances is intended to reduce the risk of positive tests for athletes and support the safety and quality claims by manufacturers.

The testing laboratory Eagle Diagnostics is based in Utah and is ISO 17025 accredited and is experiencing in testing for substances banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
