The Vitamin Shoppe acquisition completed by Kingswood Capital Management and Performance Investment Partners

New plans for the company include a focus on brand-building, digital marketing, e-commerce, and other areas of growth.

In a May 20, 2025 press release, Kingswood Capital Management, LP and Performance Investment Partners, LLC (PIP) announced the completion of their acquisition of The Vitamin Shoppe – the global omni-channel retailer of wellness and lifestyle products and guidance – from Franchise Group, Inc. The Vitamin Shoppe offers nutritional supplements including vitamins, minerals, sports nutrition, specialty supplements, herbs, homeopathic remedies, and green living products.

The Vitamin Shoppe also carries more than 700 brands in addition to its proprietary brands of The Vitamin Shoppe, Vthrive The Vitamin Shoppe, BodyTech, BodyTech Elite, plnt, ProBioCare, and True Athlete under The Vitamin Shoppe and Super Supplements, in the US. Through partners, the company also serves customers in certain Asia, South America, and Central America markets.

From 2018 to 2023, Sharon Leite served as CEO of The Vitamin Shoppe and is now returning to the position. "After an incredibly rewarding and successful four and a half years in the business, I am thrilled to return to The Vitamin Shoppe," said Leite, in the press release. "With the invaluable support of our partners at Kingswood and PIP—leaders in building brands and driving growth in omnichannel retail—we are primed for an exciting new era of expansion. I look forward to collaborating with the board, management team, vendor partners, and our dedicated Health Enthusiasts as we build a world-class health and wellness platform that delivers an unparalleled experience to our customers." The rest of the company’s executive leadership team will remain as is.

Joining Leite on the Board are representatives from Kingswood and PIP, including Alex Smith, a Kingswood operating partner and prior Chairman of The Vitamin Shoppe as well as Beth Kaplan, who has held several leadership positions including president, chief merchandising and marketing officer, and director of General Nutrition Centers (GNC).
