The control panels, designed for use in hazardous environments, can now be supplied with a new type X purge system.
Ross Systems and Controls (SysCon; Savannah, GA), a division of Charles Ross & Son Company (Hauppauge, NY), is now offering a new feature for its control panels designed for Class 1 Division 1 hazardous environments.
The panels are now available with a Type X purge system, a fully-automatic feature that “forces clean air through the enclosure until all hazardous gases are removed,” according to Ross SysCon. Once that is accomplished, the system also maintains a “slight positive pressure within the panel.”
For example, NEMA 4X operator stations are pictured above with Type X purge systems, which include a 24-volt power supply. Ross SysCon explains that the operator stations are designed for use with a remote (programmable logic controller) PLC system. They also feature an emergency stop button with hermetically sealed contact block and 15-inch color touchscreen with Ethernet communications.
