Every year, Nutritional Outlook chooses its Best of the Industry Award winners, recognizing individuals, groups, and companies whose initiatives are helping shape the state of the dietary supplement and food and beverage industries for years to come. We’re happy to announce the 2025 Best of the Industry winners: Jim Emme for Industry Leader; Artemis International for Industry Supplier; and SGS Nutrasource for Service Provider.

Industry Leader

Jim Emme is the CEO of NOW Health Group (Chicago, IL) as well as chairman for The Natural Products Association (NPA; Washington, D.C.). As CEO, Emme has significantly grown NOW into a global brand that leads by example when it comes to commitment to quality and consumer safety. As the chair of NPA’s Board of Directors, Emme has been actively communicating with lawmakers to address regulatory pain points and educate both regulators and legislators about the industry and its value to both consumers and the economy.

“Jim has reframed the concept of leadership in the industry, which will endure for decades to come,” says Daniel Fabricant, PhD, president and CEO of NPA. “Jim’s ability to bring people together from the boardroom to Capitol Hill reflects his deep commitment to the belief that our industry’s success depends on doing what’s right for consumers first. This award is incredibly well deserved. Jim’s contributions will leave an indelible mark on the industry, and we’re honored to celebrate him with the rest of the industry.”

Industry Supplier

Artemis International (Fort Wayne, IN) represents the importance of being steadfast in one’s commitment to science, integrity, and customer service. Specializing in dark berries, Artemis International has been at the forefront of innovation with ingredients like European black elderberry and aronia, investing in research and ensuring identity and quality throughout its supply chain to become one of the most trusted sources. The company has also broadened its portfolio to include botanicals, fungi, and a new vegan calcium in response to customer feedback and demand, maintaining the same emphasis on quality.

“We’re excited and deeply honored to be recognized by Nutritional Outlook,” says Leslie Gallo, president of Artemis International. “It coincides with our 30th anniversary, and this award reflects our steadfast commitment to premium quality ingredients and unwavering commitment to top-notch customer care over the past three decades. We’re honored to be recognized among our peers for this annual award.”

Service Provider

SGS Nutrasource (Guelph, ON, Canada) has been at the forefront of clinical validation and certification for nutraceuticals, offering consulting services for contract research and regulatory compliance, as well as numerous certifications. These services not only help nutraceutical manufacturers stand out, but also make for a safer, more rigorous, and innovative marketplace for consumers who are looking to improve their health. SGS Nutrasource has been continuously expanding its services to help customers meet complex regulations and the growing demand for clinically backed and third-party verified products since the company’s inception in 2002 and only continues to grow following its acquisition by SGS.

“This award will delight our expert teams who are dedicated to ensuring the quality and integrity of nutraceutical products across the natural product, dietary supplement, and food and beverage industries,” says Joshua Baisley, SGS Nutrasource’s senior vice president of clinical operations. “We’re also thrilled that Nutritional Outlook cited our pioneering NutraStrong certification program which has become an authority for food supplement manufacturers and brands dedicated to bringing safe and effective products to market.”

Nutritional Outlook is grateful to all of this year’s winners for their commitment to excellence and looks forward to seeing their continued success.
