New Zynamite S research shows potential cognitive health improvement
Key Takeaways
- Zynamite S, derived from mango leaves, enhances cognitive functions and mood, with effects lasting up to 5 hours post-administration.
- The study used a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, crossover design with 88 healthy university students.
PLT Health Solutions and Nektium Pharma announced that a recent clinical study showed potential cognitive health benefits for the ingredient, Zynamite S.
In a recent press release,
A study published in Pharmaceuticals in April 2025, had researchers analyze data from 119 participants. The subjects were split into three groups randomly with each group being provided a different treatment on each experimental day. One group was provided with a placebo, another group received 100 mg soluble Zynamite (Zyn-S 100), and the last group was given 150 mg of soluble Zynamite (Zyn-S 150).3 The press release mentioned that “The study showed that a single 100 mg dose of Zynamite S rapidly provided these benefits - some as soon as 30 minutes after supplementation.”1
In conclusion of the study, the study authors mentioned, “The results confirm that the acute administration of low doses (100 mg and 150 mg) of a soluble extract of Mangifera indica (60% mangiferin), known as Zynamite S,
Results from the April 2025 study found improvements involving complex task handling, mental flexibility, mental processing speed, decrease in fatigue, and enhanced mood.1
“This newest study of Zynamite S builds upon Nektium's previous research demonstrating efficacy in what scientists agree are the core components of “mental energy”: improved cognitive performance, cognitive adaptability, enhanced mood, and reduced fatigue. These results are shown to occur within minutes to hours. Zynamite S has the potential to redefine what we mean by mental energy in consumer products,” Joe Weiss, Global Head of Brand Management for PLT Health Solutions, said.1 “The fact that Zynamite S is water-soluble makes the ingredient even more exciting because it can be formulated into delivery systems that represent significant growth areas in supplement and functional products markets,” he added.
In regard to the new clinical study, it consisted of 88 healthy university students who were provided a single dose of 100 mg Zynamite S or a placebo and were assessed by researchers three times over a period of five hours. The study utilized a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, crossover design and included a seven-day washout between testing conditions, the press release explained.1 Researchers assessed study participants at baseline, 30 minutes after consuming Zynamite S or the placebo, three hours, and five hours.
Study participants additionally completed two Tral Making Tests in regard to mental flexibility and cognitive speed. To assess cognitive flexibility and inhibitory control, participants took a Stroop Color and Word Test. Lastly, participants were given a Profile of Mood States Test (POMS) to analyze mood, such as total mood disturbances, tension, and depression.1
As mentioned in the press release1, when compared to the placebo, subjects taking Zynamite S experienced:
- Improved mood and reduced tension starting at 30 minutes, with a 24.1% improvement in mood at 5 hours
- Reduced fatigue in 30 minutes, with a 26% reduction in 5 hours
- Improved attention and working memory by 17% at 5 hours with significant differences versus placebo at 3 hours
- An improvement of 25.4 in processing speed
- A greater than 21% improvement in the ability to handle complex tasks
- Improved selective attention and inhibitory control. These core executive functions help manage and control thoughts and actions and handle cognitive interference while processing multiple pieces of information simultaneously.
