Key Takeaways

  • Consumer surveys indicate a broad shift toward proactive health behaviors, with aging well increasingly prioritized, supporting healthy aging as a mainstream category rather than a niche segment.
  • Market estimates suggest cellular-health supplement launches rose 50% year-over-year (2024–2025), but launch velocity does not inherently validate clinical benefit or evidentiary rigor.

Everwell Health's latest market report ties rising consumer interest in "aging well" to cellular-level ingredients, part of a broader shift in how supplement brands are positioning healthy aging products.

Everwell Health, a New Jersey-based ingredient supplier, recently published an interactive report arguing that cellular function, rather than any single organ system, should be the next area of focus for healthy aging formulation.1,2 "Consumers are increasingly looking to support their healthspan—they want to make the most of their years and continue doing the activities that they love throughout their life," said Jordan Miller, the company's chief marketing officer, in the announcement.

The report leans on a NielsenIQ consumer survey3 showing 70% of global consumers proactively manage their health and 57% now prioritize aging well more than 5 years ago, along with a market-research estimate that launches of cellular health supplements grew 50% year-over-year between 2024 and 2025.

What Does the New Report Say About Vitality and Cellular Function?

The report frames vitality and healthspan as related but distinct measures of quality of life, arguing that consumers are less interested in simply living longer than in maintaining energy, physical performance, and cognitive function as they age.

"We believe cellular function represents the next chapter in wellness, and our ingredients can help brands answer the call for proactive healthy aging support, so consumers live their fullest lives," Miller said. The report positions declining nitric oxide production and inefficient cellular signaling as underlying, less visible drivers of age-related decline, a framing that supports the company's own ingredient portfolio rather than an independent clinical classification.

Why Is Cellular Function Getting Attention in Healthy Aging Formulation?

The consumer data behind the report reflects a broader documented shift toward preventive health behavior. NielsenIQ's 2025 Global Health & Wellness Trends survey found that a majority of consumers across markets are now managing health proactively rather than reactively, part of what the firm has described as a longer-term move toward healthy aging as a mainstream category rather than a niche one.3

Supplement categories tied to mitochondrial and cellular health have grown alongside that shift, according to market-tracking data the company cites, though growth in product launches does not by itself indicate consumer demand is being met with matching clinical evidence.

What Does the Evidence Show for VitaliG and Nitrosigine?

The 2 ingredients highlighted have different levels of direct supporting research. A 2023 randomized, placebo-controlled trial of geranylgeraniol, the compound in VitaliG, found no significant hormonal changes across a full cohort of 66 healthy adults, but did find statistically significant increases in total, free, and bioavailable testosterone in a smaller subgroup of men with baseline testosterone below 700 ng/dL, an exploratory finding the study's authors said warranted further investigation.4

Nitrosigine, meanwhile, has published peer-reviewed research on cognitive performance in physically active adults, showing improved results on complex mental-flexibility tasks in small trials of 11 and 16 participants; that research cites earlier work validating the ingredient's effect on nitric oxide levels but did not itself measure nitric oxide or cardiovascular outcomes.5

"Our portfolio provides formulators with the trusted ingredients they need to create differentiated products," Miller said, a claim that reflects the company's own assessment of its research base rather than an independent evaluation of it.
