New Omega-3 Softgel Concept ZOΩ3GO Debuts from LEHVOSS, Zooca, and Golden Omega
Key Takeaways
- LEHVOSS positions ZOΩ3GO as a finished supplement concept to compress formulation and commercialization timelines versus ingredient-only supply, targeting both EU and US markets.
- Formulation pairs Calanus-derived EPA/DHA/SDA plus astaxanthin and marine policosanols with high-concentration fish oil triglycerides verified for species origin and supply-chain traceability.
Built on Calanus Oil and ORIVO-verified fish oil, the concept targets brands seeking faster, differentiated omega-3 product development.
LEHVOSS UK Ltd, a subsidiary of the LEHVOSS Group, has introduced ZOΩ3GO Softgels, a new trademark and finished-product concept aimed at giving supplement brands a ready-to-market omega-3 formulation.1 The concept was developed in partnership with Zooca The Calanus Company and with Golden Omega, pairing two branded marine lipid ingredients into a single softgel format.
What Ingredients Make Up the Formulation?
According to the announcement, the formulation combines Zooca Calanus Oil, a wax-ester marine lipid derived from the zooplankton species Calanus finmarchicus, with Golden Omega fish oil triglycerides concentrates. On the Calanus side, the ingredient supplies EPA, DHA, SDA and additional fatty acids, plus bioactive compounds such as marine policosanols and astaxanthin that occur naturally in the oil. The Golden Omega ingredient, meanwhile, supplies an ORIVO-verified fish oil traced to anchovies caught in the South Pacific. LEHVOSS states the combination is intended to deliver EPA and DHA levels sufficient to support EFSA-authorized health claims related to heart, brain and vision function at a dose of one to two softgels per day.
What Is the Commercial Strategy Behind the Launch?
LEHVOSS is positioning ZOΩ3GO as a finished product concept rather than a raw ingredient, intended to shorten development timelines for brands entering or expanding in the omega-3 category. The company says the concept is available for both the European and US markets. The first commercial application of the concept is expected this autumn in Sweden, where the supplement brand Holistic plans to launch a product under the name “Holistic Omega-3 Fiskolja PRO.”
How Are the Partner Companies Framing the Launch?
In statements accompanying the release, representatives from all three companies framed the launch around differentiation within an increasingly saturated omega-3 category. Teresita Rudà, head of marketing and brand positioning at LEHVOSS, explained how ZOΩ3GO softgels adhered to current trends. “The concept responds to several key industry trends at once: the continued demand for EPA and DHA with clear health positioning backed by scientific research; the search for innovative lipid sources and differentiated ingredient stories; the growing importance of sustainability and traceability; and the need for faster, lower-risk innovation in finished supplement formats.”
“We are pleased to see Zooca Calanus Oil featured in concepts such as ZOΩ3GO, where its distinctive marine composition can support more differentiated and forward-looking approaches to omega-3 supplementation,” commented Ole Sakkestad, chief sales officer for human health and nutrition at Zooca The Calanus Company.
“To win in a mature and competitive market, brands don't just need a new formulation—they need a premium standard of quality that drives real commercial success,” added Sarah Leach, business development manager at Golden Omega.
What Research Has Supported Calanus Oil?
The study also observed reductions in metabolic syndrome severity score and the TyG-WHtR index, along with decreases in central diastolic blood pressure and heart rate; no significant changes were reported in CRP, central systolic blood pressure, or pulse wave velocity. The authors noted the absence of a placebo arm as a study limitation, and concluded that Calanus oil supplementation could potentially improve diastolic function and support metabolic health in this population.
