BSCG to Spotlight Five Certification Programs at SupplySide Global 2026

Banned Substances Control Group (BSCG), a third-party certification and testing provider, announced it will feature its five certification programs at booth #6383 during SupplySide Global 2026, in Las Vegas. According to the company, the five programs are designed to serve distinct needs across products and facilities.

BSCG's lineup includes Certified Drug Free, which screens every product lot for banned substances and drugs alongside GMP and annual quality verification; Certified Quality, which checks label claims and screens for contaminants and drugs on a yearly basis; Certified GMP, described as the only program of its kind offering a GMP-compliance seal for packaging; Certified CBD, which combines cannabinoid and THC verification with banned-substance, drug, and contaminant testing; and Certified Facility, which provides onsite manufacturing-facility audits for GMP compliance.

Two of the programs, Certified Drug Free and Certified Quality, are also tied to Amazon's compliance fast track for lower-risk dietary supplements, allowing certified products to bypass additional Amazon compliance review. The company notes that its Certified Drug Free program, in particular, screens each lot against more than 450 substances, including those banned in competitive sport as well as prescription, over-the-counter, and illicit drugs, and that its model allows GMP audits and quality testing to be handled through a network of outside labs and audit providers.

Catlin also pointed to the mismatch between injectable delivery formats and the ingestible products consumers associate with supplements, along with marketing claims around injury treatment and anti-aging effects that go beyond what supplement labeling law permits for legitimate brands.

The article also noted that compliant brands face competitive pressure from gray-market sellers operating without comparable oversight, and it drew a parallel to past reputational damage the supplement industry experienced from spiked products involving designer stimulants, SARMs, and other unapproved ingredients.

“This is a clarion call for responsible brands, retailers, regulators, certification providers, and industry trade groups,” Catlin had emphasized. “If the industry stays silent while unregulated research chemicals and enhancement products blur the line with lawful supplements, the long-term damage to consumer confidence and category credibility could be substantial. It is time for us to work together to address this growing concern and protect the legitimate dietary supplement industry.”
