The ingredient supplier will spotlight Cognizin Citicoline’s push into functional foods and beverages, as well as Setria's 20th anniversary.

Kyowa Hakko USA has announced it will serve as the official women's health category sponsor of SupplySide Global 2026, taking place October 28–30 in Las Vegas.1 The sponsorship centers on two of the company's flagship ingredients, Cognizin Citicoline and Setria Glutathione, both of which the company positions as relevant to women's health formulation.

Why Does the Timing Matter for Setria Glutathione?

The timing carries some significance for Kyowa: 2026 marks the 20th anniversary of Setria Glutathione, the company's patented, clinically studied form of glutathione. According to the press release, research has demonstrated that Setria raises plasma and red blood cell glutathione levels following oral intake, with potential downstream support for detoxification, immune function, respiratory health, healthy aging, and exercise recovery. The company also points to a recent run of finished products incorporating Setria, including P90X Pre-Workout, beam Biotic, The Vitamin Shoppe's Vthrive L-Glutathione + Taurine, Just Ingredients Hair, Skin, and Nails Supplement, and PANDA Liposomal Glutathione.

How Is Cognizin Citicoline Expanding Beyond Supplements?

Alongside Setria's anniversary, Kyowa is highlighting Cognizin Citicoline's expansion beyond traditional supplements into functional foods and beverages. Cognizin is GRAS, allergen-free, and stable, and the company cites clinical support for its role in mental energy, focus, attention, and memory. Recent product launches spanning both supplement and food categories include GRUNS Jüced Energy Gummies, Fields Good Focus Cookie, MOSH High Protein Bars with Creatine, MAC Energy, Astreas Energy Truffles, BUM Energy Pouch, and PWR Buck Energy Pouches.

Karen E. Todd, RD, Kyowa's vice president of global brand marketing, highlighted the continued opportunities the ingredients offer in the industry. “It’s a rare moment when you get to celebrate 20 years of an ingredient’s impact and the next chapter at the same time,” Todd stated. “Setria has spent two decades earning trust in the industry, and Cognizin is proving there’s a new category in functional food waiting for the same kind of science. Both ingredients have clinically backed roles to play in how women think about their health, and SupplySide Global is where we get to put that story directly in front of the people building tomorrow’s products.”

What Else Will Kyowa Be Doing on Site?

Kyowa's SupplySide presence extends to the show's education track. Katie Emerson, MS, RD, CISSN, the company's senior manager of scientific affairs, will join a panel on formulating "mood foods" that address cognitive and emotional wellness through the gut-brain axis, discussing how ingredients like Cognizin can support calm focus, stress resilience, and sleep at different points in the day.

“Mood support looks different throughout the day — calm focus in the morning, stress resilience in the afternoon, and better sleep at night,” Emerson said. “That's an opportunity we're excited to explore at SupplySide Global this year: showing how ingredients like Cognizin can help brands build genuinely craveable functional foods and beverages that fit into consumers’ lifestyles.”

Attendees can also visit the Kyowa booth (4365) to sample products made with its ingredients and attend a booth reception on Wednesday, October 28.

What Does This Sponsorship Build On in Kyowa's Cognizin Research?

The SupplySide sponsorship follows other recent Cognizin research activity from Kyowa. In May 2026, the company announced a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover study examining the acute effects of a single 500 mg dose of Cognizin, rather than the ingredient's more documented long-term effects.2 The trial measured EEG brain wave activity, validated cognitive performance tasks, and subjective mood and affect ratings in healthy adult men at 60 and 240 minutes after dosing, comparing results against placebo.

Emerson stated the acute-dose research is intended to clarify how quickly Cognizin's effects may begin, with implications for formulation across cognitive health, sports nutrition, and functional food and beverage products.
