Soy supplier Solbar (Israel) has appointed Todd R. Watson as president of Solbar USA. The company says it is aiming to strengthen its position in the U.S. market following the acquisition of a new processing plant in Nebraska last year.
Watson’s experience in the food ingredients industry includes working in sales and marketing for companies such as Cargill. He also worked for 10 years at ABF Ingredients and was president and CEO of Protient Inc.
The Sioux City, NE, plant is eco-friendly, separating protein from oil without the use of chemicals. The company’s line of isolated soy protein and textured soy protein concentrates can be used in a wide range of food and beverage products, including nutrition bars and dry-blend and ready-to-drink beverages.
