Radient Technologies Inc. (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) and Grupo Natac S.L. (Madrid, Spain) have formed Natac Solutions, a 50/50 joint venture between the two companies, to bring innovative new functional ingredients to market. The companies have entered into a binding letter of intent that a portion of Radient Technologies’ health and wellness solutions business will be folded into the joint venture along with a portion of Grupo Natac’s existing business in order to form Natac Solutions, which will be based in Madrid, Spain.
“The companies’ strengths and capabilities are complementary, and we recognized that by combining them, we could create innovative ingredients that deliver in-demand functional benefits,” said David LaFond, managing director of Natac Solutions, to Nutritional Outlook. “By marrying Radient’s patented extraction technology and Natac Group’s Full Plant Profile methodology and science, we’re able to create nutraceutical extractions in an energy-efficient manner, and we’re able to deliver ingredients that are incredibly pure, concentrated, and that include the Full Plant Profile-in other words, our extracts contain the nutraceutical profile in proportion to how they exist in nature.”
The joint venture will also take advantage of global trends, with offices and manufacturing facilities in North and South America, Europe, and a growing presence in Asia. This creates additional value for stakeholders and consumers. In terms of what Natac Solutions has planned moving forward, LaFond said, “We’ll be offering new products that target different health states, such as stress relief, inflammation, energy, and more.”
