Residents of the remote town of Tsinjoarivo, Madagascar are receiving a charitable offering of children’s multivitamins from supplements manufacturer NHK Laboratories Inc. (Sante Fe Springs, CA), the company recently stated.

NHK Labs has donated 400 bottles of 30-count children’s multiple-vitamin chewables to the people of Tsinjoarivo through Sadabe, a non-governmental organization based in Madagascar and operated through McGill University in Montreal.

“As manufacturers of wellness products, we have a moral and ethical responsibility to espouse health locally and globally,” said M. Amirul Karim, CEO of NHK Labs. “This donation will provide hundreds of children in Tsinjoarivo with essential vitamins and nutrients necessary for their physiological growth and development.”

Tsinjoarivo has a population of approximately 20,000 people, according to a 2001 census. The nearest market is said to be a 4-6 hour distance on foot.
