Immudyne Nutritional (Jacksonville, FL) launched PureMune, a science-based branded beta-glucan ingredient for immune health. According to the firm, its onset action is different from other beta glucans which need 6 - 12 days after consumption to raise clinically relevant immune response, whereas 30 mg/d of PureMune creates an immune response after three hours. Plus, it works on all three immune pathways (dectin-1receptors, toll-like receptors, and the complement-3-receptors) versus just dectin-1receptors like most beta glucan ingredients, says the firm.
“Testing shows active data demonstrating that our beta glucan rapidly activates complement immunity, outperforming others from 100 - 1000 times,” said Mark McLaughlin, CEO of Immudyne Nutritional, in a press release. “PureMune low dosage offers many benefits when developing immune-health products, as companies can now blend in other science-based immune ingredients such as probiotics, vitamin C, or elderberry to create optimum immune formulations using different delivery systems.”
