Glanbia subsidiary Optimum Nutrition has introduced a new, “candy-tasting” essential amino acid chewable that provides 1000 mg of muscle-building amino acids in each two-piece serving.
“Dieters, recreational and team sport athletes, and people who are trying to develop a leaner, more-muscular physique all have something to gain from this novel amino acid supplement,” says Ermel Manuel, a food scientist at the company’s Aurora, IL, R&D laboratory.
The chewables are sugar free, contain 10 calories per serving, and are also promoted as a sweet treat. “Amino Chewables can be used anytime to fight back a snacking urge, while increasing your daily intake of essential amino acids, the nutrition building blocks of lean mass,” Manuel adds.
