The company underwent audits for both good manufacturing practices and the Global Food Safety Initiative’s Safe Quality Foods program.
Mushroom ingredients supplier Sempera Organics (Morgan Hill, CA) announced it has received certifications for both current good manufacturing practices (cGMP) and the Global Food Safety Initiative’s (GFSI) Safe Quality Foods (SQF) program.
The company is now Level 2 certified under the SQF program benchmarked by GFSI, whose goal is to standardize and globalize food safety standards. “As a manufacturer of dietary supplements and food ingredients, we have to comply with local, state, and federal regulations…” said Nirmal Nair, Sempera Organics' CEO and founder, in a press release. “The standards set by SQF are much more stringent than what is required by the state and federal regulations.”
Sempera Organics also underwent a cGMP audit for dietary supplement manufacturing (21 CFR 111), which found the company to be compliant.
