Frost & Sullivan has awarded Nutraceutix (Redmond, WA) its 2010 Technology Innovation of the Year award for the company’s LiveBac production process and BIO-tract delivery system for probiotics.
The award recognizes that the LiveBac process, combined with the Bio-tract delivery system, helps ensure probiotic survival through the entire product cycle-including manufacturing and transportation through consumer ingestion and digestion.
“The formation of the protective barrier on the probiotic tablet allows for controlled release of beneficial bacteria throughout the day-a characteristic that is more commonly associated with advanced pharmaceutical-grade delivery technologies, rather than with nutraceutical-grade delivery technologies,” stated Frost & Sullivan senior industry analyst W.F. Kee, in a press release.
