DuPont (Wilmington, DE) has acquired full ownership of soy ingredients provider Solae LLC (St. Louis), according to a company announcement. Solae was originally formed as a joint venture between DuPont and Bunge (St. Louis).
“Solae’s scientific expertise and market leadership in soy is a critical element in our plans to enhance the quality and quantity of food for a growing global population,” said DuPont executive vice president James C. Borel.
The acquisition highlights DuPont’s growing interest in the health ingredients sector. DuPont acquired ingredients supplier Danisco (Copenhagen) last year.
