The company says that the name change will signify its role as a global ingredients supplier to a range of industries.
Corn Products International (Westchester, IL) has announced it will change its name to Ingredion, pending shareholder approval at its annual meeting in May. The company says that the name change will signify its role as a global ingredients supplier to a range of industries, including packaged food, beverage, and brewing.
“We are very excited to announced our new name and identity,” said Ilene Gordon, chairman, president, and CEO. “The first part of the name represents ‘ingredients,’ while the second part has its roots in the Greek word that means ‘something that goes.’ It says clearly that we’re an ingredient solutions company.”
Also part of its global strategy, the company acquired National Starch Food Innovation in late 2010.
