Chemi Nutra (White Bear Lake, MN) is employing new, advanced technology in its advertising that enables customers to utilize special software and smartphone applications that read coded data and then trigger actions such as launching a website. The new technology is a new way to connect traditional print media to web media, the company says.
The company says that QR-codes are similar to barcodes, but instead of vertical lines, they use tiny squares that are composed both horizontally and vertically. These codes store information in a two-dimensional space.
“QR-codes are still in their infancy in America,” says Chase Hagerman, business development and marketing manager of Chemi Nutra. “As a manufacturer of innovative ingredients, we are excited to utilize this technology to stay in the forefront of the nutrition industry.”
