Several European marketers are stepping up to the plate with new products targeting constipation and overall digestive health.
Since launching its probiotics plus fiber dietary supplements concept, Chr. Hansen (Hoersholm, Denmark) says that several European marketers are stepping up to the plate with new products targeting constipation and overall digestive health.
In July, British supplements brand Wren Laboratories Ltd. launched a consumer product in the UK called OptiBac Probiotics. It is a stick pack containing a powder blend of Chr. Hansen’s Bifidobacterium BB-12 probiotic strain and fiber, and is meant to be sprinkled on breakfast cereal or in water daily or twice daily.
Also, in February, Yovis launched Yovis Regola in the Italian market. The product is a 6-g stick pack combining Chr. Hansen’s BB-12 probiotic and fiber.
“The fact that the concept, which combines efficacious probiotics and beneficial fibers, excites the industry confirms that our development matches the market need,” says Chr. Hansen marketing manager for human health and nutrition, Charlotte Beyerholm. “Apart from the Italian and British launches, we are working with a number of companies in other countries on probiotics + fiber products.”
