AIDP Inc. (City of Industry, CA) has entered into an exclusive sales distribution agreement for Functional Fungi organic mushroom nutraceuticals. Functional Fungi offers a full line of certified organic, multi-patented mushroom powders which are produced in its U.S.-based, large scale indoor growing, drying, and manufacturing operation.
The firm’s mushrooms are grown utilizing multiple patented and patent-pending processes that include the use of high antioxidant (anthocyanin) substrate, and purple corn. Compare this to other brands that use inert or nutrient poor substrates such as oat, rice, millet, and sawdust. Functional Fungi’s cultivation technology creates U.S. grown single-species mushroom powders and custom blends.
“We are excited to add the line of Functional Fungi to the AIDP portfolio. This trending ingredient has a wide range of applications for our customers,” said Mark Thurston, president of AIDP, in a press release. “Functional Fungi provides the highest quality, organic mushroom powders in a wide variety of historically proven strains.”
“AIDP is the perfect partner for Functional Fungi,” added Jordan Rubin, head of formulation, in a press release. “AIDP customers align with Functional Fungi and have a great opportunity to include them in supplement, beverage and functional food formulations.”
Mushrooms offer a number of benefits, including immune-boosting compounds such as beta-glucans, polysaccharides, and prebiotics.
