Live from SupplySide Global 2026, Nutritional Outlook’s Nicholas Jacobus speaks with Komal Baldwa, founder and CEO of aspurus, about the company’s life-stage optimized dosing platform for women’s health. In the conversation, Baldwa explains how preclinical and clinical research shapes stage-specific doses for the reproductive, perimenopausal, and postmenopausal stages, and why the company’s broader, 12-domain approach to symptom tracking offers formulators more consumer-driven claims than typical perimenopause studies.

Transcript:

Nicholas Jacobus: What’s your company showcasing at SupplySide Global this year and what’s new?

Komal Baldwa: What we're showcasing this year is about a life stage optimized dosing. By that, women have different life stages and different hormonal stages, like pre-productive, perimenopause, and postmenopause, and what we have done is that more of like kind of a drug way, the way the pharmaceutical company have the drug dose. We also worked into the manner, looking into the preclinical studies of the mice and having the right dose, the minimum effective dose for that specific stage. So we have kind of 300 milligram dosage for reproductive, 500 milligram dosage for the perimenopausal stage, whereas 250 milligram dose for the postmenopausal stage. We have worked into the science because women hormones are different at different stages, and we as a woman understand that 18-year-old Kamal is different for what I am right now. Women are not homogeneous population. We are a different for our different of the stages of the life, and that's what we are showcasing this year at Supply Side with our life stage optimized dosing.

Jacobus: What does the research behind this technology show and what is still being studied?

Baldwa: This platform shows about how we got at this specific dosing. As I mentioned, we did a preclinical study on the various models to understand the minimum effective dosage post the preclinical, we went forward with the clinical human RCT trials for each of those specific symptoms. Our clinical studies are more consumer focused, and that's why we bring more of the holistic solution what the end consumer are looking out for say for example a perimenopausal study talks more has the outcome which is about 12 domains. Most of the other perimenopausal studies has three or four domains. We've got fatigue which has been measured. We've got irritation, brain fog, all the other symptoms. So we bring more of the consumer insight, understanding what the end consumer and broader claims that is possible for you as a formulator to take into it, and that's exactly what we do.
