Synergy Flavors (Wauconda, IL) broke ground on a new building at its Chicago-area corporate campus last week. The flavors, extracts, and essences supplier says that the new, LEED-certified facility will add an additional 40,000 sq ft, bringing the size of its corporate campus to 200,000 sq ft.

During the groundbreaking event, the company gave a virtual reality tour of the new facility, which is scheduled to be completed by July 2018. Synergy executives were also on hand for interviews. According to the company, the new addition will be home to its sales, marketing, finance, human resources, IT departments, and executive team, and will also provide additional lab space. The new facility will purportedly also allow for an “expected campus growth of close to 300 employees over the next few years,” and potentially provide up to 50 new jobs.

Construction of the new facility comes on the heels of what the company says is “robust growth” in the food and beverage industry. “Our rapid growth is a testament to our dedication to our customers, our employees, and our shareholders, and we are excited to continue that growth in Wauconda. We are looking forward to expanding our facilities and continuing to hire new team members to further our robust growth and continue on a path of leadership in our industry,” Rod Sowders, CEO, Synergy Flavors, commented in a press release. “The new state-of-the-art building aligns with our company’s vision and future growth plans, and will help ensure the company has the people, technology, and tools in place to take Synergy Flavors in to the future.”
