According to the company, OptiMSM can be used in moisturizers, nail polishes, acne creams/gels, antiaging products, body washes, shampoos, toothpaste, and mouthwashes. The ingredient also provides benefits beyond preservation, including supporting collagen/keratin production; being a primary building block for healthy hair, skin, and nails; being pH and thermally stable; and working synergistically with other ingredients. Bergstrom Nutrition says OptiMSM is the world’s only GRAS-designated proprietary and patented MSM.
