The safety of the two citrus extract ingredients has been affirmed for use in dietary supplements, functional foods, and beverages.

Two flagship ingredients from Solabia Nutrition have received "no question" letters from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on their Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) notifications.1 The ingredients, Watts’Up and Cordiart, are both derived from sweet orange (citrus sinesis extracts) grown in Europe and have been optimized for high bioavailability. With the safety evaluation complete, the ingredients are GRAS for use in dietary supplements, functional foods, and beverages.

“Receiving the FDA’s Approval letter for GRAS status is a major milestone that underscores our commitment to safety, science, and innovation,” stated Alessandra Rinaldi, quality and regulatory manager at Solabia Nutrition, in a June 17, 2025, press release. “This recognition further enables our customers to confidently formulate with Watts’Up and Cordiart across a wide range of delivery systems and product categories.”

Watts’Up is intended for sports performance support for both professional and recreational athletes. A consumer study found that 10 kickboxers consuming effervescent tablets containing Watts’Up for seven days demonstrated faster heart recovery time compared to baseline performance.2 Products worldwide have integrated the daily dose of 400 mg.

Similarly, Cordiart supports blood flow and flow-mediated dilation (FMD), according to clinical studies.3 Finished products have incorporated the 500 mg daily dose of the ingredient.

Both ingredients are covered by patents, are clean label, and are suitable for powder blends, beverages, sachets, and liquid formulas.
