In a May 1, 2025, press release, Sabinsa announced it would introduce its new ingredient LactoBeet, at Vitafoods Europe, taking place May 20 – 22 in Barcelona, Spain. LactoBeet is a combination of the LactoSpore, the stable probiotic Heyndrickxia coagulans (Bacillus coagulans) strain MTCC 5856 and of the standardized beet root extract Sabeet, which contains a minimum of 2% nitrates and is water soluble.

Sabinsa is also the official Curcumin Sponsor of Vitafoods Europe 2025, and will be at 3G104 during the event.

“For over three decades, Sabinsa has remained at the forefront of natural ingredient innovation, with science always guiding our path,” stated Umar Jan, PhD, president of European Operations, in the press release. “As we showcase our portfolio at Vitafoods Europe 2025, including our groundbreaking curcumin formulations and clinically validated extracts, we continue our commitment to providing evidence-based solutions that address today's most pressing health challenges. Our presence as the Official Curcumin Sponsor reflects not just our heritage of excellence but our vision for the future of nutritional science.” Dr. Jan will be present at the even to discuss Sabinsa’s support of its European clients.

Additionally, Sabinsa will showcase six more ingredients and products:

  • Curcumin C3 Reduct, the EFSA-approved Tetrahydrocurcuminoids for organ health support. The colorless curcumin metabolites are optimized for bioavailability.
  • Cirpusins, derived from a standardized extract from dried rhizomes of Cyperus rotundus, is a product intended for weight management and support for lipid profiles.
  • Saberry, intended for healthy lipid and glucose metabolism and metabolic wellness, is extracted from Emblica officinalis (Amla) and standardized to 10% beta-glucogallin.
  • For immune response support for environmental stressors, Nigellin is derived from Nigella sativa (Black Cumin Seed) seeds and standardized for 5% and 20% Thymoquinone.
  • For stress and anxiety support, Shagandha is derived from standardized Ashwagandha root extract with 2.5% withanolides through USP methodology.

Sabeet, which is part of LactoBeet, was shown in a recently published study to support arterial stiffness in postmenopausal women.1 In the randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, and parallel-design trial, 20 participants (ages 60-85 years) were given either a beet root extract that was nitrate-rich (8.8 mmol/day) or nitrate depleted with measurements taken at four, eight, and 12 weeks. Ultimately, the study demonstrated that “twelve weeks of nitrate-rich beetroot extract supplementation improved carotid artery stiffness and increased NO bioavailability without altering blood pressure.”
