Sabinsa Gains Patent for TetraPure Natural Antifungal Alternative

TetraPure is effective against a wide range of fungi such as Pityriasis versicolor, Seborrhoeic dermatitis, dandruff, Follicular pityriasis, Tinea nigra, white piedra, black piedra, and onychomycosis.

Sabinsa (East Windsor, NJ) has been granted a U.S. patent (#US8119696) for TetraPure, an antifungal ingredient for hair, skin, and nail care products that can be a natural replacement for antifungal agents and topical steroids. The patent is the company’s 70th patent.

According to the company, approximately 90% of fungal skin infections are caused by parasitic fungi that affect the skin, hair, and nails. (Antibiotics can also increase the incidence of fungal infections.)

As a natural alternative, TetraPure can be used in cream, shampoo, ointment, lotion, spray, or powder form for topical applications for the hair, skin, and nails. It is effective against a wide range of fungi such as Pityriasis versicolor, Seborrhoeic dermatitis, dandruff, Follicular pityriasis, Tinea nigra, white piedra, black piedra, and onychomycosis, relieving skin discomfort and soothing redness, irritation, scaling, itching, and burning.
