Perelel Publishes New Clinical Data on Triple-Support Protein Formula

Perelel, the OB/GYN-founded women's health brand, has announced results from a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study of daily supplementation of its Triple-Support Protein formula, which combines plant-based protein, creatine monohydrate, and low-FODMAP prebiotic fiber.¹

As explained in a news release from the company, the four-week trial, led by Abbie Smith-Ryan, PHD, of UNC Chapel Hill's Applied Physiology Lab, enrolled 39 women ages 30–60 (average age 46) and evaluated glycemic control, metabolic biomarkers, satiety, and cognitive performance. Versus placebo, Perelel reports statistically significant improvements in total and LDL cholesterol (both already within normal range), along with greater fullness and improved spatial memory after four weeks.

The company frames this as distinct from existing research on the individual ingredients, stating it aimed to create direct evidence on the complete formula in midlife women. "We've always believed women deserve nutrition that is built around the science of their bodies—not a one-size-fits-all approach," explained Victoria Thain Gioia, co-founder of Perelel. "This study takes that philosophy a step further by testing the complete formula in the women it was designed to serve. We're building a body of clinical evidence that can help raise the standard for what science-backed women's health nutrition looks like."

Triple-Support Protein has also earned NSF Certification and a Clean Label Project Purity Award, the release noted.

What Other Clinical Trials Has Perelel Conducted?

Perelel's website outlines a four-stage process: panel formulation, ingredient selection, formulation research, and finished-product trials.² It also lists several prior studies:

• A 12-week randomized, placebo-controlled trial of Conception Support Pack in 60 women, with reported increases in serum iron, B12, folate, and omega-3 index
• An 8-week study of Mom Multi Support Pack in 30 mothers, with reported improvements in energy, skin, and hair
• A similar 8-week trial of Women's Daily Vitamin Trio in 27 women
• A 12-week single-arm study of Hormonal Balance Support in 30 women with self-reported hormonal symptoms
• A 12-week randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial of Synbiotic Greens Powder in 410 women with digestive discomfort

Perelel also cites clinical support behind branded ingredients used across its line, including Ferrochel iron, Sensoril ashwagandha, Bacillus subtilus DE111 probiotic, Affron saffron, and TurtleTree LF+ lactoferrin, and says its research is conducted specifically in women.

How Does Daily Resilience Complex Extend the Powder Category?

In April 2026, Perelel launched Daily Resilience Complex, combining lactoferrin and collagen peptides as an alternative to colostrum supplements.³ The company says its lactoferrin is produced via precision fermentation rather than sourced from colostrum, allowing an animal-free dose intended to support immune modulation, iron utilization, gut barrier integrity, and connective tissue health. Perelel co-founder Banafsheh Bayati, MD, called lactoferrin "the new standard for supporting iron utilization during pregnancy," noting the formula is appropriate across life stages. Perelel ties the launch directly to consumer response to Triple-Support Protein, which it says demonstrated demand for multi-benefit, lower-complexity formats.

What Role Did the Prelude Growth Partners Investment Play?

This research expansion follows a $27 million investment announced in November 2025, led by Prelude Growth Partners with participation from Unilever Ventures, Willow Growth Partners, and Selva Ventures.⁴ Perelel said it had reached profitability within five years, doubled revenue year over year, and maintained strong subscriber retention.

CEO Victoria Thain Gioia described the round as validation of a brand built on "clinical rigor and medically backed solutions." Prelude, which typically invests $15–100 million per company and holds stakes in brands including Bachan's, Blueland, and Sol de Janeiro, cited Perelel's doctor-founded model and clinical track record as its rationale.
