Nutrasource announces NASC Preferred Supplier membership

Nutrasource Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical Services (Guelph, Ontario, Canada), a global full-service contract research organization, has announced its membership to the National Animal Supplement Council (NASC) as a preferred supplier. Preferred suppliers are pre-qualified companies that supply products and services NASC primary suppliers without additional vendor qualifications that fall under NASC cGMPs. For companies to display the Preferred Supplier Seal, they must meet strict criteria each year to ensure ongoing compliance.

“NASC sets the bar high for our Preferred Supplier program and we are pleased to welcome Nutrasource as the newest member of the program,” said Bill Bookout, NASC president, in a press release. “Nutrasource is a proven leader in helping customers find solutions across the product development spectrum and we believe they will be a trusted partner for NASC members.”

The services Nutrasource offers for pet foods, pet supplements, and animal feed include: companion animal clinical studies, pet food and animal feed regulatory and strategic consulting, certifcations, and product testing.

“The market for pet foods and dietary supplements continues to expand and now, more companies are looking to therapeutic claims to differentiate themselves,” said Will Rowe, president and CEO of Nutrasource. “It is important for Nutrasource to align with the NASC as health products intended for pets must meet compliance requirements for ingredient content, product claims, and risk to animal health as directed and regulated by Health Canada and the FDA in the U.S.”
