Nexira announces the results of an anti-aging clinical study

Nexira's Oli-Ola, a natural olive fruit extract, showed anti-aging benefits in a 12-week study, improving skin elasticity, hydration, and radiance

Nexira announced in a recent press release, the results from a new clinical trial that explored potential anti-aging benefits of Oli-Ola, a premium 100% natural olive fruit extract. Oli-Ola contains two polyphenols, which are hydroxytyrosol and tyrosol.

“Consumers are increasingly looking for multifunctional beauty solutions that align with their values,” says Leslie Lannebère, global marketing manager, health, at Nexira. “Oli-Ola is our answer to that call—an upcycled and effective ingredient that supports radiant and glowing skin from the inside out.”

In the placebo-controlled, clinical study, which has not undergone peer review, 132 women were given either Oli-Ola or a placebo, daily, for 12 weeks. According to Nexira, women taking Oli-Ola experienced significant improvements in skin elasticity and hydration.

More specifically, women taking Oli-Ola experienced1:

  • +13% improvement in skin elasticity
  • –12% reduction in trans-epidermal water loss (TEWL), reinforcing the level on cell hydration
  • Visible improvements in skin radiance, moisture, and imperfection, with 87% of participants reporting overall satisfaction

Oli-Ola is upcycled from the by-products of olive oil production, reducing environmental impact and supporting "a transparent, circular supply chain.” The ingredient is able to be used in several delivery formats, such as gummies, capsules, and powders.
